NEWBIE (n.)

Web slang for a person experiencing a new web environment such as, for e.g., the Discworld MUD.

NOOB (n.)

Short for NEWBIE.

Some people reading this may have tried out the Discworld MUD before. Others - like me - may be trying, not just the Disc for the first time, but the whole MUD-thing.

Therefore I'll be assuming that you're a clueless newbie just like me - so apologies to any experienced MUDders out there who might find it a bit too detailed.
