NEWBIE (n.)

Web slang for a person experiencing a new web environment such as, for e.g., the Discworld MUD.

NOOB (n.)

Short for NEWBIE.

Some people reading this may have tried out the Discworld MUD before. Others - like me - may be trying, not just the Disc for the first time, but the whole MUD-thing.

Therefore I'll be assuming that you're a clueless newbie just like me - so apologies to any experienced MUDders out there who might find it a bit too detailed.

However, some information on here may be of use or interest to the more experienced player¹, so just click The Guild of Aventurers link to go back to the main index and check out some of the other, meticulously researched² information available for your entertainment.

NB: Where people have been referred to by name, and the name appears as a link, clicking this link will take you to the secure pages of the Discworld MUD website. If you're then prompted for a username and password, you need to:

Enter your character name for the username
Enter your character password for the password

And you'll go straight in.
